MEET RICK
Rick McCartney is a father, husband, small business owner, and non-profit leader who’s lived in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District for over 30 years. He raised his family in this district. He currently lives in Phoenix with his husband Korwyn.
Rick has always been driven to stand up for those whose voices are too often ignored. He’s volunteered with and led multiple organizations focused on early childhood development, financial literacy, and mentorship for youth facing poverty and adversity. As board chair of one·n·ten, Rick led Arizona’s largest LGBTQ+ youth organization—establishing housing and education programs that changed lives and gave young people real hope for the future.
He’s also a successful small business owner. In 2010, Rick founded In Business Magazine to give a voice to Arizona’s local businesses—fueling economic growth, promoting entrepreneurship, and helping businesses create good-paying jobs across the Valley. As chair of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, he expanded access to job training programs that helped thousands of Arizonans gain the skills and stability they need to succeed.
Rick knows what Arizona workers and families are up against—and what it takes to build a stronger middle class. He believes in a level playing field, where everyone has a fair shot to thrive.
Now, Rick is running for Congress to fight for us—and he won’t back down.
