MEET RICK
Rick McCartney is a father, husband, small business owner, and community leader who always stood up for those whose voices are too often ignored. He’s not a career politician – he’s a leader shaped by real life. Raised by a single mother who was a schoolteacher, Rick learned early the values of hard work, resilience, and giving back to his community.
For decades, Rick has delivered for Arizona. He’s helped small businesses grow and thrive; served on government workforce councils that put thousands of Arizonans on the path to good-paying careers; and defended vulnerable communities to ensure everyone has a fair shot at success and the opportunity to build a better future.
He’s worked to strengthen our public schools, which gives every child access to a quality education and serves as an anchor for the community. He’s been a strong advocate for affordable housing opportunities, so that families can build stability and a future. Rick hasn’t just talked about opportunity – he’s built it, neighborhood by neighborhood, for the people who need it most.
Politicians talk and never do. Talk is cheap! Rick is a doer – he connects with people, trades in big ideas and has a positive vision for our community. He will take his experience and drive to Washington to set policy and be the representative we need fighting for AZ01.
Now, while this Administration, Congress, and the Supreme Court want to make us think that government doesn’t work, by ensuring that it can’t – tanking the economy, stripping away our rights – Rick McCartney is running to fight back.
But here’s the truth: we don’t need to keep playing from the same old, losing Democratic playbook. Recycling candidates who lost before is not going to get the job done. Arizona’s 1st Congressional District deserves a fresh face with a real track record of accomplishment, not names from the past hoping for a different outcome or someone disconnected from the district!
In Congress, Rick will (because he has):
Fight for Affordability – Rick will tackle the rising cost of housing, healthcare, childcare, and everyday essentials so that families in Arizona can thrive without being priced out of their own communities.
Protect Social Security & Healthcare – Rick will fight efforts to cut Social Security and Medicare, making sure seniors get the benefits they’ve earned, and families have access to quality, affordable healthcare.
Create Good-Paying Jobs – Rick will promote on building an economy that works for everyone by supporting small businesses, investing in infrastructure, and creating opportunities for strong wages and long-term careers.
Defend Democracy & Accountability – Rick will protect voting rights, call out corruption, and hold anarchists like Trump and Schweikert accountable, so that the people – not special interests – are in charge of our future.
Rick McCartney stepped up to lead when others wouldn’t. He knows firsthand the struggles Arizona families face – and he’ll never stop fighting to make sure every voice is heard. His husband, Korwyn and son Camron, stand with Rick and know that he is the one who will win and finally flip this seat.
Rick is the founder and publisher of In Business Magazine to give a voice to Arizona’s local businesses—fueling economic growth, promoting entrepreneurship, and helping businesses create good-paying jobs across the Valley. As chair of the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, he expanded access to job training programs that helped thousands of Arizonans gain the skills and stability they need to succeed. Rick knows what Arizona workers and families are up against—and what it takes to build a stronger middle class. He believes in a level playing field, where everyone has a fair shot to thrive.
